The Systems Administrator is responsible for all day-to-day operations of workstations, peripheral devices, telecommunication and data communication equipment. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all user based devices and software. Analyzes and resolves end user connectivity issues in a timely and accurate manner, and provides end user training and support where required.  This position is located at our plant in Silao, Guanajuato, Mexico.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and administer all operating systems and their corresponding or associated software.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network and local printers.
  • Design, implement, test, and document disaster recovery plans for operating systems, workstations, and software applications as assigned.
  • Provide onsite technical support before and after hours as required
  • Assess need for any system reconfigurations (minor or significant) and execute them if required.
  • Ensure connectivity of all workstations.
  • Conduct research and provide recommendations on emerging products, services, protocols, and software.
  • Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure software, hardware, or services.
  • Assist with developing, implementing, and maintaining policies, procedures, and associated training plans for system administration and appropriate use.
  • Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights to systems. Update user data on active directory, signatures and phone lists.
  • Perform network audits.
  • Perform system backups and restorations.
  • Recommend, schedule, and perform software and hardware improvements.
  • Develop documentation for all systems as required.
  • Administer PC platforms by installing, configuring, maintaining, upgrading, and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain appropriate information including software licensing, IP address assignments, inventory database, network administration and server administration.
  • Monitor all systems and reports problems to responsible individuals within the IS department.
  • Assist in maintaining MPLS and troubleshooting WAN/LAN network issues.
  • Prepare and deliver daily, weekly, and/or monthly status reports to Infrastructure Manager.
  • Support all equipment for training room, video conferencing and conference room equipment at all sites.
  • Assess, identify and recommend standards for PC, MAC and mobile devices, tablets, printers, and other client peripherals.
  • Create and manage an organization procurement policy based on the business needs assessment.
  • Develop standardized PC configurations incorporating features/functionality/security based on best-practice design and analysis of business needs.
  • Document standards, configuration and work procedures related to client hardware and software.
  • Perform image management by developing, documenting and updating master images for standard products.
  • Assess and address IT control and security weaknesses.
  • Responsible for ensuring client software compliance within the organization
  • Develop action plans to ensure compliancy and take corrective actions.
  • Develop and document work procedures and troubleshooting guidelines in System knowledgebase.
  • Provide desk-side support following the incident management process. Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and requests with business applications, desktop connectivity and hardware technologies.
  • Accurately document all work in the ITSM tool. Prioritize incidents and change requests based on defined criteria and service level agreements and effectively communicate with the customer on incident status.
  • Provide after hour support coverage.
  • Perform hardware repairs and maintenance on computer systems, handheld devices, cell phones, wireless cards, phones, printers, servers, network equipment and peripherals. Rebuild computer systems as required.
  • Provide support for hardware service requests.  Perform computer and phone system moves.
  • Participate in the testing of new hardware installs and client configurations.  As backup support, install and configure new hardware.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (Computer Science or Information Technology).
  • Three plus years related experience and/or training in the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills as well as strong customer service abilities.
  • Ability to read, speak and understand English sufficiently to follow directions and communicate with supervisor and co-workers.
  • Adept at reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to conduct research into software issues and products as required.
  • Proficiency in Windows 7 TCP/IP, DHCP, SNMP, Exchange and Office 2013/2016. Office 365. Strong working knowledge of local area and wide area network (LAN and WAN) administration. Working knowledge of telecommunication technology and systems.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations not required but highly recommended, A+, CNA or MCP, MCSE or CCNA.
  • Expertise in the following areas: Tablet and mobile devices, Hardware and software configuration for PCs, Tablets and Mobile devices. Architecting the Enterprise Mobile Platform and Framework; Mobile applications, Mobile Device Management architecture and governance, Mobile hardware platforms. Defining and implement of Mobile Corporate Policies. Being recognized as an expert in current and emerging mobile technologies and trends. Developing relationships with business leaders to recommend innovative mobile solutions. Managing relationships with key mobile vendors
  • Keen attention to detail.  Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience with Avaya phones, Apple iPhones, bar code scanners and label printers.
