The Human Resources Generalist administers policies relating to all phases of human resources activity by performing the following duties.  This position is located at our new plant in Monroe, Ohio.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain knowledge of current legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
  • Recruit, interview, test, and select candidates to fill vacant plant positions.
  • Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
  • Maintain records of personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
  • Train management in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, and safety and sexual harassment compliance.
  • Advise management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Administer performance review and compensation program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within the organization.
  • Administer employee absences, leaves of absence and employee assistance program.
  • Assist in the administration of employee benefit plans participation.
  • Investigate accidents and prepares reports for insurance carrier.
  • Prepare employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
  • May indirectly supervise other employees in the Human Resources Department.

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree from four-year college or university; and two plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Knowledge of Human Resource systems; Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel; Payroll systems.
  • Ability to train small or large groups of people.
  • PHR certification is a plus.
