Honda Recognizes UGN Monroe Plant with Honor of Distinction

Monroe, Ohio (November 16, 2016) — Just more than a year old and the UGN, Inc. Monroe facility has already distinguished itself to Honda for exceptional service.

Every year, Honda recognizes suppliers who increase value to the customer by removing waste within the overall product and supply chain. The Monroe facility is this year’s winner and will receive the award during a ceremony today.

Monroe, the sixth UGN facility, officially opened in September of 2015. The state-of-the-art fcility, has brought more than 240 skilled jobs to the area to supply Honda Motor Co. with superior acoustic insulation, carpet, and underfloor technologies.

Criteria for this distinguished award includes significant value increases through cost reductions, process improvements, applications of advanced technology, logistically-optimized manufacturing, and production support locations.

“This is a great day for UGN and more so for those of the Monroe facility,” says Peter Anthony, CEO of UGN. “It’s very satisfying when team members receive recognition for consistently high achievement.”

The ceremony and plant tour runs from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Representatives from Honda, UGN, and the City of Monroe will be in attendance.
