TINLEY PARK, Illinois (May 17, 2016) — For the third time , Peter Anthony, UGN chief executive officer, is a finalist for the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ Award in the Midwest region. With programs in 145 cities and 60 countries, the EY award recognizes leaders around the world who create the products and services upon which our economies depend. A special gala will take place June 15 at Navy Pier in Chicago where the category winners will be announced.

“To be recognized for a third time is such an honor,” says Anthony. “Being included as a finalist amongst this group of talented entrepreneurs from across the Midwest is truly humbling.”

Anthony joined UGN in 1992 as a sales and marketing manager. Early on, he set an ambitious goal to someday run the company. He was determined to lead the team and foster growth. As head of business development, he increased sales from $42 million to $118 million.

Since taking the helm in 2002, sales have increased by 124 percent to more than $400 million, which has allowed for tremendous company expansion. UGN, Inc. has added three manufacturing facilities in the United States and one in Mexico bringing their total number of production plants to five. The company’s dramatic growth can be attributed to Anthony’s focus on penetrating existing markets, and initiating new product development. UGN is well known as a leading manufacturer of acoustic, interior trim, and thermal management products for Japanese car makers’ North American operations.

EY regional award winners are eligible for consideration for the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ National program. Award winners in several national categories, as well as the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year National Overall Award winner, will be announced at the annual awards gala in Palm Springs, California, on November 20, 2016. The awards are the culminating event of the EY Strategic Growth Forum®, the nation’s most prestigious gathering of high-growth, market-leading companies.
